Chinese Jump Rope 101

Chinese jump rope is basically a piece of elastic that ties together in a loop and goes around the ankles of two people standing. It takes the place of jump rope and is actually more helpful for the kids learning basic skills of jumping. You don't have to worry about moving jump rope and timing. It is all about static rope. It's fun to incorporate rhythms and rhymes or counting into it. Anyone can do it and you can make it as easy or as hard as you want. Fun for everyone!

Here is an example YouTube video. Just increase the level of difficulty until it is mastered. Then you can try a harder combination. Or pick a nursery rhyme and have the kids make up their own jump routine to it.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H48DTWOlmw0

Skip Counting
YOu can use the jump patterns, or create your own, but count by 2's or 3's, etc. We have been doing 10's with my four year old.
